Who we are

A Sanctuary of Healing by the Sea

At its heart, Hiru represents a journey back to nature, a return to balance. Sitting gracefully on a rocky plateau 25 meters above the Indian Ocean, the resort offers not just a place to stay, but an invitation to experience an awakening – a chance to reconnect with your body and soul. The breathtaking views are more than just scenic; they serve as a constant reminder that true peace comes from within.

The transformation of Hiru Villa has mirrored the very essence of Ayurveda – slow, deliberate, and profoundly impactful. From the humble colonial house, it has grown into a sanctuary that now features 19 meticulously designed rooms, including standard rooms, junior suites, and master suites. Each space radiates the tranquility and harmony that we aim to instill in every guest, offering not just comfort, but a restorative environment.

But it’s not just the setting that makes Hiru unique – it’s our dedication to the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, practiced in its truest form. At the core of Hiru Ayurveda Resorts is Panchakarma, an age-old detoxifying and rejuvenating treatment that has been passed down through generations. Every treatment, every touch, is delivered with the guidance of our Chief Doctor, who has been with us from the very beginning, ensuring the authenticity and power of every healing ritual.

The success of this vision was never meant to be contained to just one place. In 2014, Hiru Mudra in Induruwa welcomed its first guests with 11 sea-view rooms, and in 2022, Hiru Om Resort opened just a short walk from Hiru Villa, offering 12 more rooms and expanding the sanctuary to even more guests in search of true healing. Every step has been taken with one thing in mind: to provide an authentic Ayurvedic experience that offers lasting wellness and a profound sense of peace.
Now, in 2024, Hiru expands further with Hiru Aadya, located in the picturesque village of Ahungalla. With 10 stunning sea-view rooms, Hiru Aadya introduces a fresh chapter, combining the wisdom of Ayurveda with the energy of a young, passionate team. Here, the focus is not only on Ayurveda but on creating an experience of transformation – a journey where you leave not only with a healed body but a renewed spirit.

At Hiru Ayurveda Resorts, we are more than a destination. We are a philosophy, a movement towards authentic that transcends time. Every guest who walks through our doors is a part of this journey. From our founder’s unwavering vision to the guidance of our Chief Doctor & Chef of Cooking, we promise you an experience that goes beyond the ordinary. It’s a return to yourself, a rediscovery of your essence, and a celebration of life in its purest form.

Come, experience Ayurveda as it was meant to be. Come to Hiru Ayurveda Resorts, where healing is not just a treatment – it’s a way of life.

“During my more than 34 years of experience in hospitality management and as a hotelier in various Ayurveda resorts in Germany and abroad (including Germany, Potugal and India), I developed the dream of offering Ayurveda treatments in my own resorts in my home country. I placed particular emphasis on authentic Ayurveda, which clearly stands out from wellness.”
